How to make an images QR code
SmartQRCode editorial · Updated October 2026
How to make an images QR code: use the images type, upload up to 40 photos, and print a hosted gallery landing page at least 2 cm across. You can swap the set after the event. A Canva one-off static collage is enough when those pictures will never change.
How to make an images QR code with a gallery you can swap
Images is a landing page (F32), not a redirect and not Wi-Fi. A scan opens a gallery (forty image cap). The modules encode a SmartQRCode URL, so swap the set Monday does not need a new table card. Gallery not a DAM: guests view on a phone; do not promise original-file downloads or a thousand slots.
This is the wrong type for a single PDF, a website, or Wi-Fi. It is the wrong spend if the set is five photos you will never replace and never count. Print a photo, or encode a static album URL in Canva.
Weddings are the usual fit: RSVP now, album later, same card. See weddings. Size starts at 2 cm at about 30 cm.
Do not screenshot /qr-preview. Export PNG, JPG, SVG, or PDF of the symbol.
Upload up to 40 photos and export the page
- Open the image gallery QR generator and upload the set. Stop at forty.
- Title the gallery so the landing page is recognisable. This is not a hidden folder.
- Confirm you picked images, not PDF and not website.
- Set error correction H if a logo sits in the symbol; M on a clean 2 cm tent with no logo.
- Quiet zone four modules. Table tents take condiments; do not crop the finders.
- Export SVG or 300 dpi PNG/PDF at the real size. No /qr-preview screenshot.
- Print a 2 cm proof. Scan on guest cellular as well as venue Wi-Fi, then replace one photo in the dashboard and scan again.
$1.99, $29, $97, $197. No unpaid tier. A website QR can point at an album you already host if that URL is immortal.
How many photos can an images QR hold?
Forty image cap. Wedding versus portfolio does not change the limit. If you have 400 frames, you need a real gallery host and, if you want a QR, either this type as a teaser of 40 or a website type pointing at that host.
More photos on the page does not densify the printed QR, because the payload is still the short URL. It does slow phones on weak radio.
Event-scale workflow: photo gallery QR code how to. Documents: how to make a PDF QR code.
Can you replace pictures after the table card is printed?
Yes. Swap the set Monday is the hosted reason. Thank-you stills can replace the ceremony set without a new print. A static Canva collage cannot swap.
Hosted galleries last as long as the provider resolves the URL. A printed photo has no such dependency and no such edit.
Analytics: totals, device, country. Not which image they lingered on, and not their name.
Paused codes stop. Archived codes keep scanning.
Galleries that load the first frame and stall
Too many heavy JPEGs on poor Wi-Fi. Compress before upload. Forty is a cap, not a target.
Print: 2 cm floor, four-module quiet zone, logo within error correction H, no /qr-preview, two tents in one camera frame.
If the page is empty, you saved without images, or the code is paused. If save-to-camera-roll is missing, that is gallery not a DAM.
Forty is a cap, not a target. Twelve compressed stills on guest cellular will beat thirty full-resolution dumps. Gallery not a DAM means you are showing a phone view. If the couple needs originals, host those on a real album and use a website QR to that host, or keep this type as a 40-frame teaser.
Wedding table cards sit in wine and candle soot. Laminate or use coated stock. Uncoated stock drinks ink and spreads modules. Compensate with size, not by dropping to L.
If you also want an RSVP, that is usually a website or event type, not images. Do not hide a form inside a gallery and call it 41 photos.
Lighting: gloss tents under a downlighter flare. Matte the symbol. Dark tablecloths as a ground without a light patch fail like any dark-on-dark.
Two cards on one table (gallery plus Wi-Fi) need spacing. The camera returns one symbol. Guests who "joined Wi-Fi and saw no photos" scanned the static square.
Forty frames as a teaser, not the whole album
If the photographer has 400 selects, host the album properly and use a website QR to that host, or keep this type as a 40-frame teaser. Forty image cap is the product limit.
Compress for phones. Gallery not a DAM. Swap the set Monday on the hosted landing. Static Canva cannot.
Table tents: 2 cm, four-module quiet zone, away from glasses, H if wiped and logoed, no /qr-preview. Two tents, two symbols, space them.
Pause empties the experience. Archive does not. Scan totals are not unique guests. Compress before upload so guest cellular does not stall on the first frame. Forty is a cap. Twelve good stills often beat thirty heavy ones. If originals matter, host the album and point a website QR at it. This type stays a phone gallery with a forty image cap, a 2 cm tent, and a Monday swap that static Canva cannot do. Wipe the tent. Rescan. Do not reprint for ketchup on a finder until you have wiped. Hosted galleries take new stills. Static collages do not. Forty image cap. 2 cm tent. Four-module quiet zone. No /qr-preview. Guest cellular, not cafe Wi-Fi, is the radio to trust. Twelve compressed stills on that radio will beat thirty camera originals. The tent still needs wipe-down space around the finders. Condiment on a finder is a miss until you wipe, not a reason to change the forty image cap. Then rescan the tent once.
Print a static collage in Canva if the set is final
A Canva one-off or other free static generator (or a printed photograph) is the right tool when the set is immortal and uncounted. A one-page family poster should not sit on $97.
Do not static-encode a wedding table card you will update with Monday shots. Do not host a gallery you will never touch. Pick the images landing type when the set will move and the card will not.
Twelve compressed stills on cellular will beat a thirty-frame dump of camera originals. Forty image cap is a ceiling, not a dare. If the couple needs RAW files, that is a real album host plus a website QR, or a USB, not this landing page. Gallery not a DAM. Table tents still need 2 cm, four empty modules, matte if the candles glare, spacing from any wifi static on the same table. Swap the set Monday only works while the code is hosted and not paused. A Canva collage of Friday's portraits is the right object when Monday will not exist. Scan the tent after wipe-down. Condiment on a finder is a miss. Export SVG. Never plate /qr-preview.
Questions this raises
Forty image cap. That is the product limit. Do not promise a thousand.
Yes. Swap the set Monday is a landing-page edit. The modules still encode a SmartQRCode URL.

The page shows the gallery. Treat it as a phone view, not a DAM.
