Business profile QR code hours

SmartQRCode editorial · Updated October 2026

Business profile QR code hours is the openHours line on the Business type: hours on the landing, written in a Mon-Fri 9am-5pm shape you can rewrite after the vinyl is up. seasonal hour edits and a lunch close without reprint are the point. If the clock never moves, paint the hours or use a Canva one-off.

Business profile QR code hours

You are not making a new type. You are filling Open Hours on a business QR code. The placeholder is Mon-Fri 9am-5pm. That is the Mon-Fri 9am-5pm shape. The field is text, not a weekly grid, not a datetime-local picker, not an ICS file. The scan still opens the whole profile: name, phone, address, website. Hours are one row on that page. The modules encode a SmartQRCode URL, so Christmas hours do not need a new window print.

This is the wrong job when you need a calendar download. That is Event, an ICS landing, not hours text. It is the wrong job when you need a pin. Location is a redirect into a maps app. It is the wrong job when the hours are immortal. A painted sign or a static Canva file then wins. Paid options are $1.99, $29, $97, or $197. There is no unpaid tier. The full profile walkthrough is how to make a business QR code.

Write openHours as the scanner will read them

  1. Create or edit a Business code. Fill Business Name first. Hours on a nameless page help no one.
  2. Open Open Hours. Type the line guests should see. Match the door. If you close 2 to 5, say so. Do not write 9-5 if you do not.
  3. Put exceptions on the same line or in Description if they are rare. Do not hide a Wednesday early close in a PDF.
  4. Fill Phone and Address so a closed door still has a next step.
  5. Scan the paid code at the real window distance. The create preview is /qr-preview.
  6. On a shelf or counter, 2 cm across at about 30 cm is enough. A window from the pavement is not. Enlarge.
  7. Export SVG or 300 dpi PDF of the symbol. Keep four modules of quiet zone off the vinyl trim.
  8. When hours change, edit the field the same day. The vinyl does not know. You have to.

A Website URL to a Google hours panel is a different dependency. Use it only if that panel is the source of truth you will actually keep updated.

How should you write the openHours line

how should you write the openHours line is in the language on the door. Mon-Fri 9am-5pm. Sat 10-4. Closed Sun. Split days with commas or slashes, not a private notation. 24/7 means 24/7. Do not write always if you are not.

Do not paste a timezone abbreviation unless the shop has one clock. Floating local time is what guests have. Event ICS uses floating times for a different reason. Here it is just a string.

Can you close for lunch without a new vinyl

can you close for lunch without a new vinyl is yes if you used the hosted Business type. That is lunch close without reprint. Edit openHours. Scanners who already cached a 301 would be stuck. This product uses 302 on redirects. Business is a landing page, not a redirect, so the page content is fetched on scan. Stale hours mean you did not edit, not that the vinyl froze.

seasonal hour edits are the same motion: summer Sundays, winter dusk. Put them on the line. A Menu type is dishes, not hours. Keep hours here.

Why hours are not a maps pin

A pin does not publish Wednesday. A maps app may show Google hours if the Place is claimed. That is not our openHours field and not something to promise. Location is a different type. Do not describe Business as opening Maps.

Scan totals say the square was used. They do not say the guest believed the line. Country is a header. No name, no email.

Gloss hours vinyl under a street lamp can fail a desk-tested code. Matte the symbol. Keep finders clear of window decals stacked on top.

Till stickers versus a pavement-read window

A till-side sticker is 2 cm at about 30 cm. A window from the kerb is not. Enlarge. Outdoor UV ink chalks. Plan a reprint cycle. A hosted line can change. The faded pattern cannot change itself.

Export SVG or 300 dpi PDF. Quiet zone of four modules, kept off the vinyl trim. Error correction H if you add a logo. Do not plate the unpaid preview. It encodes /qr-preview.

Scan counts are scans. They are not unique visitors. Pause and archive differ. seasonal hour edits are a dashboard paste the same day the door policy changes. A static hours graphic in the modules cannot do that. Paint the door if the clock is immortal. Use the hosted line if Wednesday will ever move.

A till-side proof should be scanned with the shop's real lighting still on. If the hours line wraps into a second paragraph on a small phone, shorten the string rather than shrinking the symbol. Keep the phone number in the same profile as the hours so a guest who only wanted closing time still has a tap that rings the desk.

When a painted hours sign beats a QR

when a painted hours sign beats a QR is a shop that will not change the clock and does not need a count. Paint it. Or encode a static URL in Canva. You will not pay $29 to host a sentence that is also on the door in enamel.

Use hosted hours on the landing when the clock moves, when lunch changes, or when the window QR has to report scans. Export a printer file. Keep /qr-preview off the plate. Keep the line honest the same day the door policy changes. A lunch close, a bank holiday, and a winter dusk are all the same edit: rewrite openHours, leave the vinyl where it is.

Questions this raises

As guests will read it, in the Mon-Fri 9am-5pm shape or your real pattern. It is a text field, not a calendar widget.

Yes. Edit openHours. The print still points at the hosted profile. That is lunch close without reprint.

When the clock never moves and you do not need scan counts. Paint the hours or encode a static file in Canva.

No. Hours are text on the business landing. A Location type is the maps job. Event ICS is a calendar file.

They count scans, device, and country. They cannot see a name and they cannot prove the guest read the line.
