How to make a Facebook QR code
SmartQRCode editorial · Updated October 2026
How to make a Facebook QR code that opens a profile card landing for one Page, not six networks and not a watch URL trapped in the modules. facebookUrl required. Edit that URL after print. If the Page URL is immortal and uncounted, encode it in Canva as a static file and stop.
How to make a Facebook QR code
The Facebook type is a landing page: Appearance colours and font, Profile (Your Name required, optional Title/Profession, optional square Profile Photo), then Links (facebookUrl required, optional Website URL). The scan shows our card, then the guest taps through to Facebook. The modules hold a SmartQRCode URL, so you can replace the Page without reprinting. It is not a redirect-only hop, and it is not the Social Media tree.
This is single page not six. If you also need Instagram, use Social Media. If you need hours and a phone number, use Business. If you only need the Facebook app to open, a Website URL pointed at the Page is a redirect with no card. If the Page URL will never move and you do not want counts, a Canva one-off is enough. Paid options are $1.99, $29, $97, or $197. There is no unpaid tier.
Paste facebookUrl, not a search string
- Pick Facebook in create. Social Media is the six-slot type. Website URL is a redirect.
- Enter Your Name as it should appear on the card. This is not a Facebook login.
- Add Title/Profession if a line under the name helps. Photographer is the placeholder length.
- Upload Profile Photo as a square if you want a face on the card. Skip a stretched cover image.
- Paste Facebook URL as a full https Page link. This is page URL not profile. https://facebook.com/yourpage belongs. A search-result URL, a share sheet, or a personal profile friends-only link does not.
- Optionally add Website URL for a homepage beside the Page button.
- Pay, then scan the live code. The editor preview encodes /qr-preview.
- Export SVG or 300 dpi PNG or PDF. Print at least 2 cm across at about 30 cm. On a card, keep the quiet zone inside the edge.
There is no /qr-code-generator/facebook page. Use social media when you need more than one network, or Website URL when you want a raw hop. Churches and nonprofits often need a Page plus a giving URL. Two jobs can mean two codes. Separate them so one camera frame does not pick the wrong symbol.
Should you paste a Page or a personal profile
should you paste a Page or a personal profile is a Page. Strangers scan posters. A personal profile that is not public will look like a broken campaign. The QR is fine. Facebook is not. Test with a phone that is logged out of Facebook.
A page you will rename still belongs here. Change facebookUrl later. The poster stays. That is the hosted trade. A static Facebook URL in the modules cannot follow a rename.
When the six-network type is the right tool
when the six-network type is the right tool is when Facebook is one button among others. The Facebook type will not grow Instagram. Pasting a Facebook URL into Social Media's Facebook slot is valid. Using Facebook type and hoping for a second network is not. See social profile QR code how to for name, bio, and photo on the tree.
A Business type is the right tool when the guest needs hours, phone, and address more than a Page. Facebook can still be the website field there, but the page is a shop card, not a Facebook card.
What a login wall looks like after a good scan
what a login wall looks like after a good scan is a successful QR, our card, a tap, then Facebook asking for a login. Do not reprint. Fix Page privacy or paste a different URL. Country and device on our side only prove the scan. They do not prove a follow.
Finder-covering stickers, missing quiet zone, and a screenshot sent to print are the pattern failures. They are not Facebook's fault. Dark modules on a dark program with no invert will not read.
Cards, programs, and a window that is not a Page
A Facebook card on a business card still needs 2 cm and a quiet zone inside the edge, not bled off a round corner. A concert program is held at about 30 cm. A shop window is not. Enlarge for pavement distance. Transparent vinyl on glass turns the street into the light modules. Back the symbol with white.
Scan totals, device, and country apply. They are not a follower count and not proof someone liked the Page. Analytics cannot see a name or email. Country is a header.
Export PNG, JPG, SVG, or PDF. Vinyl cutters need vector. Toner needs 300 dpi at the millimetre size. A logo in the modules is recovered by error correction. Keep it small. Raise correction toward H. Do not cover a finder with a sticker of the Facebook glyph.
Paused codes stop serving. Archived codes keep scanning. If the Page is unpublished, edit facebookUrl or pause. Reprinting will not resurrect a dead Page.
If a guest scans from a program in a dark hall, raise error correction and size before you blame Facebook. The Page URL can be perfect and the modules still fail under a follow-spot. Test with the house lights in the state they will be on the night, not at a desk at noon.
Canva for a Facebook URL that will never move
If https://facebook.com/theband is permanent and you will not count scans, encode it in Canva or another free static generator. The modules hold Facebook. When the Page is unpublished, the print is a tombstone.
Use the Facebook type when the URL may change, when you want the profile card, or when you want scan totals. Export a printer file. Keep /qr-preview off the plate. Do not pick this type to get a six-network tree.
Questions this raises
